We're only 3 weeks into Re:Zero's 4th Season, and already it has surpassed its Season Premier (3825 Karma). This is notable because in its prior 2 seasons combined it only surpassed its premier Karma total once (Season 2's finale Karma Total of 14766 Karma). Of course, a part of that is because Season 4's premier was probably its weakest premier episode to date but still a good sign for this season nonetheless.

I really hope re:zero breaks the 5000 karma barrier at least once. It would be a great feat in current times. Excluding premieres, only jujutsu kaisen (ep4) had achieved that after 48 hours in the last 52 weeks.

While Re:Zero and WHA are notably above the pack. It seems that Yomi no Tsugai is also doing that. It has the recipe for a new series to gain momentum. Manga not really being talked about outside of Japan. Amazing adaptation. Has good publicity being on Crunchyroll. Same-day Dub. On the other hand, Dorohedoro had a huge episode. It is crazy it is halfway done.

I'm really happy that Re:Zero S4 is ended up in 1st place once again, and that it got a well deserved boost in karma. The next three spots are the same as last week, no surprise here. Meanwhile I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class landed in 5th place. I find interesting because the previews looked really average imo, so I didn't even started watching it. Is this show good?
『2nd Prettiest Girl』は楽しい作品。プロダクションは特筆するほどじゃないけど、脚本がしっかりしてる。主人公2人の相性が良くて、主人公が女性アレルギーじゃないのも助かる。表向きはおとなしい性格だけど、芯のある信念を持ってるんだ。

2nd Prettiest Girl is a fun show. Production-wise, it's not remarkable but the writing's rock solid. The leads got a pretty compatible chemistry. The MC not being allergic towards girls also helped. He also has a seemingly meek demeanour, but turned out to have convictions.

Dorohedoro has been amazing so far, especially episode 6. Season 2 was definitely worth the wait.

Episode 6 was a damn masterpiece. The way everything came together thats been building up from the start. That surreal Blade Runner flair, En being untouchable, Caiman resolving a triple double mystery about himself. Dorohedoro is exactly what Anime has been lacking for a long time.

This sub has always been anti-yaoi. The fact that Hikaru charted as well as it did in summer is actually impressive.
今期は珍しくサブレディットの好みと完全にズレてて、自分のトップ3のうち2作（『Nakamura-kun』『Awajima Hyakkei』）がチャート圏外。なのに自分が切ったり切るべき作品が普通にランクインしてる。 AwajimaのMAL評価が7点以下で、ここでも無視されてるのは本気で意味不明。あれだけ美しい演出と良い脚本なのに。原作はAoi HanaやWandering Sonの志村貴子、監督はカードキャプターさくら・ちはやふる・俺物語の人だぞ。今期一番期待してた作品だから、この扱いは謎すぎる。

Unlike last season, I'm way out of step with the subreddit this season, with two of my top three anime this season - Go for It! Nakamura-kun and A Hundred Scenes of Awajima - not making the chart at all, and several shows I've dropped or should drop making it easily. I'm honestly scandalized by Awajima having a MAL rating below 7 and being mostly ignored here when it's so beautifully directed and well written.

エピソード5は爆笑した。Nakamuraが前回勝ちすぎたから、今回ちょっと格下げされたんだろうなw 最初の数分が見るのに15分かかった、second-hand embarrassmentで何回も一時停止しなきゃいけなくて（その毎秒が最高だった）。アニメ化に愛と情熱が詰まってるのが伝わる。あとEDで Flyday Chinatown が流れた時はサプライズすぎたw ただ、このサブはBLに特に冷たい🫤 残念だな、よく書かれた作品なら、登場人物がストレートやwlwだったらもっと多くの人が愛したであろうBL作品はたくさんあるから。性別や指向は私が物語を楽しむ妨げにならない。

Episode 5 had me rolling. Nakamura had too many wins in the previous episode so they had to knock him down a peg or two. The first few minutes of the episode took me like 15 mins to watch because I had to keep pausing due to second-hand embarrassment. You can tell that a lot of love and passion have been poured into the anime adaptation.
今期はかなり豊作？「シーズン全体の評価」
今期は予想以上に良かった、隠れた名作が結構ある。Nippon Sangoku、Akane-banashi、MARRIAGETOXINの3つは大きなサプライズ。Daemons、Wistoria、Dorohedoro、Re:Zeroは全部素晴らしい。Witch Hatは美しい、Bookwormは安定の癒し枠。 良作が多くて、それぞれ違う雰囲気を持ってるから、誰でも楽しめる作品があるね。

This season has been way better than expected with a bunch of hidden gems nippon sangoku, Akane banashi, marriage toxin are three huge surprises. Daemons, wistoria, dorohedo, re zero, all great. Witch hat is beautiful, bookworm is my cozy watch. There's just so many good shows all with different vibes something for everyone.

I'm rooting for Guro to find a bride. He might be inexperienced with women but his attitude towards them as well as relationship is a massive green flag. Lol at that Botan Kamiina banner. Loving the gay and drunken adventures of Bocchi & Nijika in uni.

Re:Zero S4の独走っぷりが凄まじいですね。「+666カルマ」って、まさに瘴気回らしい絶妙な数字で、Reddit民の遊び心を感じます。3週目で早くもシーズンプレミアを超えるカルマを叩き出すのは、シリーズが今もなお全盛期を維持してる証拠。海外でも「進撃以来のランキング支配」と言われるのは、原作派から見ても納得です。
個人的に注目したいのは、海外勢が『Dorohedoro S2』の第6話を「Blade Runner flair」と評してる点。あのシュールでダークな雰囲気は、本当に他のアニメには無いものですよね。S1から長らく待たされたファンに、報われる回が来てよかったです。
一方で気になるのは、隠れた名作の扱い。『淡島百景』は志村貴子原作（『青い花』『放浪息子』の作者）で監督もカードキャプターさくらの人なのに、MALスコア7点以下＆ランキング圏外という海外勢の評価。文学的アニメは英語圏では刺さりにくいというのは、英語圏ファンとの感性の差を感じますね。同じく『Go for It! Nakamura-kun』もBL要素で評価されないのは、サブレディット特有の偏りで、もったいない気がします。
英語圏のランキングはどうしても「ダーク・派手・派手」が強い傾向があるんでしょうね。Re:ZeroもDorohedoroも進撃の系譜という意味では、自分の好みに合致してるんですが、しっとりした作品も応援していきたいところです。
